I've been trying to work out Photoshop lately. Experimenting with layers has shown me it has a great deal of potential, even for the mouse-bound "artist", like me. It's also shown me that I honestly have no idea how to draw faces, still, after all those years and forced public school lessons. Oh my!

The secret of drawing  males yet eludes me. How oh how do you manage those few differences in line that make a boy, instead of a skinny girl? Waah.

Good question. Well, as far as known artist chaps, I like Dali and Monet. I've never really studied art, though, so don't know any others. Lately, the webcomics Drowtales, Spiderborn, Arcana, and Blatah have been big influences as well. These are all, to my knowledge, in magna style. The lighting effects in Drowtales and Spiderborn fascinate me especially.

I also use my anatomy book as reference sometimes, along with the local critters.

For actual image ideas, I basically draw whatever bugs me to be drawn. I also tend to listen to two or three music-sources at once while working on coloring for inspiration.

So, what are yours, y'all? what inspires you while drawing? And this ain't a rhetorical question.

Following a dream would be a welcome diversion. A dream, I think I dreamed this time, but I can't remember...only the hazy impression of a faded hallucination clings to the remnants of my mind.

How do you remember? It used to come so easily...as soon as my eyes closed, the phantasmagoria of strangeness engulfed me, and as I opened, the feel of it still all around me, and the memory as clear as though I only ever truly lived in those wild worlds apart. But now? Now all I have is the faint haze, a suggestion of disappating mists and grayness that lingers on my mind like the sweet aftertaste of a bitter drink.

Well, worlds come and go, dreams were meant to fade. But one who is used to rich feasts of fantasy finds this dry bread and water insufficient fare.

It's so hot I'm freezing here. How do you fix that? Well...I suppose I'll live with it. The room is filled with music, but it's not enough. Maybe I should put in a cd to play against the radio...I need a tapestry of sound to offset the interwoven heat and cold around me.

And green. I need a quantity of green.
